Farmers, activists burn effigies of Modi govt leaders across Bathinda to protest action against youth
Protesting the alleged police action against students and youth in Delhi, the Bharti Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan) burnt effigies of the Centre across 11 locations in Bathinda district on Tuesday.
Bhucho Mandi, Talwandi Sabo, Goniana and Bhagta Bhaika saw major demonstrations. Addressing the gatherings, BKU district president Shingara Singh Maan and other leaders accused the Centre and state governments of using force to suppress democratic protests. They highlighted youth grievances regarding exam scams, rising education costs and unemployment.
The union also condemned action against Panjab University students and MGNREGA workers, calling upon families to join the Samyukt Kisan Morcha’s (SKM) scheduled toll plaza protests on Wednesday
